Malvagna
The Lanza foundation
Giovanni Lanza founded the village in 1626 on land received from his mother Silvia Abate. Settlement expanded as people moved uphill from nearby areas affected by malaria.
The 20th century
Malvagna and Mojo were united as Lanza in 1928. Their separate municipalities were restored in 1947. The origin of the name Malvagna remains uncertain.
